The temperate rainforest biome is a forest filled with tall redwoods conifers and ferns.
Description[]
Dense scrub and huge spruce trees in the shape of conifers grow out of standard dirt blocks. The grass and Oak Leaves in this biome are a light green.
Vegetation[]
Oak trees are most prominent, but there are also a lot of willow trees and redwoods. Ferns andns and Tall Ferns grow abundantly.
Mobs & NPCs[]
Common passive mobs spawn here.
Survival[]
This biome is a pretty good place to start because of the large quantity of wood. Even though there's plenty of wood, survival can still be tough as most of the trees are very tall and hard to chop down. The leaves provide a lot of shade, so zombies and skeletons can hide beneath the canopy and survive the sun to attack the player.
History[]
2x2 trees used to appear in this biome before 1.8. In late 1.12.2, Redwood Wood replaced Oak Wood on the big trees. In 1.15.2, it was made flatter with huge patches of water and no Redwood Trees due to the Temperate Rainforest Hills sub-biome.
Unfortunalety, it got removed in 1.16.4
Trivia[]
- In real life, Temperate Rainforests can also be deciduous and receive heavy rainfall.
- In the world, they appear in the Pacific Northwest, New Zealand, much of the Gaelic parts of the British Isles, and Korea.
