The Glowing Grotto is a somewhat uncommon cave biome that features both regular and huge glowshrooms, the floor is covered in mud and glowing moss blocks and carpets, and glowworm silk can be found hanging from the ceiling. All mobs that would usually generate throughout the caves can spawn here, including bats, skeletons, zombies and spiders. This biome, along with the Spider Nest, were added in 1.17, however did not generate naturally until 1.18. They could be generated with custom world type, though. It is the successor to older versions of the fungal jungle that included glowshrooms in their generation.

1.17 The Glowing Grotto was added.
1.18 Glowing Grottos now naturally generate.
