Biomes O' Plenty Wiki

Not to be confused with their regular variant, the Glowshroom.

Glowshroom Blocks are a luminous block generated as a part of Huge Glowshrooms. They feature two unique textures, and like small Glowshrooms, always appear illuminated, regardless of their setting. They can only be obtained via a tool enchanted with Silk Touch, and if broken with anything else, will drop regular Glowshrooms. When coming into direct contact with other Glowshroom Blocks, the texture for the face that contact was made on will be replaced by a special "inside" texture.

Obtaining[]

Glowshroom Blocks are only obtainable via Huge Glowshrooms. These can be found in the Glowing Grotto biome, or they can be created by bone meal-ing a regular Glowshroom.

A Glowshroom Block will only drop itself if mined with a tool that has the Silk Touch enchantment. Under any other circumstance, they have a slight chance to drop a few smaller Glowshrooms, and nothing else.

Usage[]

Again similar to their smaller counterparts, Glowshroom Blocks are a primarily decorative block, with some luminous properties. The block appears fully illuminated regardless of context, and themselves emit a light level of 9.

Glowshroom Blocks also boast a notable niche in composting, with a whopping 85% chance to raise the current compost layer by 1. This is offset by the fact that bone meal is required itself to obtain Glowshroom Blocks consistently. However, when accounting for the vanilla Mushroom Stems that Huge Glowshrooms also generate, as well as the relatively low amount of bone meal that is required to grow a Huge Glowshroom, there is still a non-negligible chance of the player getting more bone meal than they used to create a Huge Glowshroom, if they compost every block that the aforementioned Huge Glowshroom produces.
