The Mangrove Biome is a biome consisting of water with Mangrove trees growing out of murky grey waters. Patches of mud and rarely bootys appear at Y=63 and 64 and the water rarely goes below 62, making it one of the flattest biomes in Biomes O' Plenty.
Mangrove trees grow in large groups in the water, and they are everywhere in the biome. Sapphire is a rare ore that can be found only in the Mangrove biome or other water type biomes. In the new version of BoP, Mangrove is no longer an oceanic biome, causing the biome ID to be changed. The old biome ID is 98.
Survival
In survival, the cons of living in this biome are the fact that monsters survive in the water, and it is awkward to travel through by boat; however, with staying on the treetops, it is easier. Mangroves are considered good spots for fishing. Mud covers most of the land of the biome so it is best to have Depth Strider Boots for going across both Mud and Water.
Before 1.8
Before BOP for 1.8, the mangrove was drastically different: Lacking its special water colour and having much more sand than mud. It was also easier to get around in the biome as there was much more land. In 1.13.2 and upwards, Mangrove Trees were replaced with Mangrove Roots.
